Price Drop: Get These Apps While They’re on Sale

Who doesn’t want to save a buck or two on a great iOS game? Nobody. I mean, think about it — personally, I eat a lot of Mexican food. So saving $2 is like getting a free taco. Which is one of the best things that can happen in the world, amirite? And since these three apps are only a dollar on sale, maybe you can buy one for yourself and gift another to a friend in honor of Friday the 13th or something. Everybody wins.

Plants vs. Zombies

This is a classic example of PopCap’s utter brilliance. If you haven’t played it yet, you simply owe it to yourself. If you have, you know what I’m talking about. The iPhone version is on sale for 48 hours (today and tomorrow, we guess) as part of PopCap’s “Crazy Dave’s Deals,” in which they’ll discount a new iOS game every 48 hours. Usually it’s $2.99, so this is a 66 percent drop. If you don’t have PvZ on iPhone, or you know a friend who doesn’t, now’s the time to jump on it. (iTunes link)

Tilt to Live HD

Tilt to Live HD is a free download for your iPad (iTunes link), but unlocking the full game requires an in-app purchase of $4.99. Except not this weekend! Grab it now, see if you like it, and from May 13 (today) through May 15 (Sunday), you can unlock the full game for just 99 cents, an 80 percent savings. It’s kinda like Geometry Wars using the accelerometer, and really must be played to be understood — Nic loved it when he included it in Game Time a while back. And now you can love it too, for just a dolla dolla bill, y’all.

Samurai Girl

This action-RPG, platformy kinda game has a fun 1980s feel that reminds me of my beloved NES, may she forever rest in peace. It’s usually $2.99, but you can get it for 99 cents for three days — ending either Saturday or maybe Sunday…we heard about it Thursday, so it probably runs through Saturday…either way, get it fast if you’re interested. Hi-yah. (iTunes link)
