Apple Announces iPhone 5 Availability In Over 50 Countries In December – Include Malaysia!

With a press release published this morning, Apple confirmed the availability of the iPhone 5 in over 50 countries this December. The iPhone 5 will be released on December 7 in South Korea, and more additional countries — including Brazil and Russia — will be added later this month. Currently, the iPhone 5 is available in 47 countries.

On December 14, the iPhone 5 will be released in:

  • Armenia
  • Bahamas
  • Bahrain
  • Bolivia
  • Brazil
  • Chile
  • China
  • Costa Rica
  • Cyprus
  • Ecuador
  • Grenada
  • Indonesia

At the iPhone 5 media event in September, Apple said they would release the iPhone 5 in 100 countries and 240 carriers by December 2012, and, with today’s announcement, the number has in fact raised to 102 by the end of the month. According to Wolfram, that’s an average of 1.04 countries added in 98 days since the first rollout on September 14th.
