We’re not sure why Cydia wasn’t officially updated, but to update to 4.2.1 and jailbreak using redsn0w is not the only way to get the new build.
HOW TO:
1. First you will need a jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch running iOS 4.0/4.0.1/4.0.2/4.1 or iPad running iOS 3.2/3.2.1/3.2.2/.
2. Next you need to download this Cydia deb file.
3. Using a SFPT client ( Cyberduck on Mac, WinSCP on Windows – or any other client ), SSH into your iOS device and upload the deb file in /private/var/mobile/documents/
