Despite India gaining a reputation of being “a dumping ground for leftover products by Apple.” it seems Apple is ready to prove them wrong as evidence points to an iPad 2 launch in the country tomorrow.
OnlyGizmos reported in an exclusive last week that India is among the list of 13 countries that Apple COO Tim Cook mentioned will be getting an iPad 2 by the 28th. This is verified by , one of the Apple premium resellers in India, who gave a strong hint today that iPad 2 is already in the country.
The official prices haven’t been revealed yet but it is expected to be close to the price of the original iPad when it first launched, starting at Rs 27900 ($629) for the 16GB WiFi version and going up to Rs 44,900 ($1,011) for the 64GB 3G+WiFi version.
Apple Store India already advertises the new tablet on its home page, but has not yet updated the store to include it in the catalogue.
Other Apple resellers such as Reliace iStore, eZone and Tata Croma are also expected to launch the iPad 2 tomorrow.
