iPhone 5 News

iPhone 5 delay merely an excuse to push the iPhone 4?

According to an AppleInsider report, an analyst by the name of Brian White (Ticonderoga Securities) believes that the iPhone 5 could still launch in June/July. This corroborate with earlier report that the iPhone 5 is slated to be announced in the 4th week of June this year.
Previously, industry sources claimed that the iPhone 5 would only be unveiled later in Fall, but today’s speculation is that Apple is keeping its iPhone 5 plans under lock & key to prevent a falloff in demand for the existing model, namely the iPhone 4.
“Apple is keeping its iPhone 5 cards extra close to the vest on this launch to avoid a falloff in iPhone 4 demand ahead of a refresh, especially given the February launch of the CDMA iPhone 4 with Verizon.”
Many believe that unlike the tablet market Apple is losing its lead in the smartphone battle and cannot afford to delay the launch of a new device.
