iPad 3 News Tips

What the iPad 3 Could Be Like a Year From Now

The iPad 2 brought a wealth of new features, like dual cameras and a thinner, lighter body. But what about those other rumored-to-be features that weren’t? Will they be in the iPad 3? Let’s take a look.

An Activated Dual-GSM/CDMA Radio

If the rumors are true, the iPad 2 has a dual chip right now. The reasons it’s been left unactivated probably rhyme with Shmerizon, ShmAT&T, and Shmoney.

7-inch iPad

Is a 9.7-inch, 1.3-pound tablet really breaking anyone’s back? The 7-inch BlackBerry Playbook still has no release date, and other tablets are almost all around the iPad’s size.

SD Slot

Instead of putting a big, ugly, gaping hole in its flawlessly designed product, Apple will keep releasing dongles. It’s not going to happen.

A Better Display

We’ve been spoiled by the iPhone 4’s gorgeous Retina display, and though Apple left the iPad display untouched this year, we’re pretty sure we’ll see it next year.
VERDICT: iPad 3

Thinner (Lighter)

It’s Apple. If it’s a hair-width thicker than a hair’s width, Apple won’t be satisfied. Despite the fact that it seems physically impossible, you can rest assured the iPad 3 will be leaner, meaner, and lighter.
